Hayley's story

Born and raised on the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia, I completed my Bachelor of Nursing in 2005, and my Master of Midwifery in 2007 at Griffith University in Queensland, Australia.

Midwifery became a passion of mine early on in life, and was consolidated through the birth of my own children in 1999 and 2002. I was enamored by the process of pregnancy and childbirth, and felt a strong desire to further connect with and work with people during this incredible time in their lives.

When not working, my passion lies with music (especially live shows), cooking, travelling, camping, and enjoying the beautiful Canadian outdoors with my kids.

I look forward to sharing in and supporting you through your journey into parenthood, which I truly believe is the best thing we ever achieve!

Daina's story

I was born and raised in North Vancouver.  I attended UBC where I attained my undergrad in psychology. In my third year at UBC I started to get involved in the world of birth, attending low income clients in labour as a doula. I will never forget my first birth, and on my way home in the early morning hours, I knew I wanted to be a Midwife.  I received my Midwifery degree from Laurentian University in Ontario and moved back to BC as soon as I possibly could.

Midwifery is not only my job but my passion. I believe individuals are the best decision makers for themselves, their families, and their babies. It is important to me that all clients receive inclusive, educational and holistic care that is both safe and personal.

After delivering my own baby in 2018 I feel more strongly than ever that pregnancy, birth, and parenthood are life changing. It is a great honor to continue to welcome new life into this world  and be a part of that life changing process.

Laura's Story

I am so excited to be joining Chilliwack Midwifery Group this summer! My journey to midwifery has been gradual and influenced by my educational and work background. I grew up in the lower mainland and completed my undergraduate studies at Trinity Western University, where I received my Bachelors of Science in Nursing in 2010. This was followed by my perinatal nursing specialty certificate that same year. I went on to gradually complete a Masters of Nursing from UBC where I studied the effects of various maternal positions on babies’ positions in labour and birth.

While working on my studies and working as a nurse at Abbotsford Regional Hospital, I had the opportunity to work with many midwives over the years. I was so attracted to the woman-centred care that I saw them provide and fell in love with this world of midwifery, which I had known nothing about! Taking a huge leap of faith, or perhaps being slightly crazy, my whole family and I (my husband and four boys – 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017) went on a crazy adventure, moving across the country to Toronto in 2015 to take Ryerson’s post-baccalaureate midwifery program. Throughout my studies, it was such an honour to get to know my clients, to follow them throughout their entire pregnancies, birth experiences, and postpartum periods; and to support them to make decisions about their own care and experiences. I am so excited to be back in the Fraser Valley and to provide this care for my own community!

Claudette's Story

I am a mother of two, grandma of two and have four fur-babies. I have witnessed the birth of both my grandchildren with midwives. I am so excited to be joining Chilliwack Midwifery and helping new and seasoned moms through their pregnancies.

I have worked in the customer service industry my whole life and am very thrilled to be a part of helping families grow.

In my spare time I enjoy gardening and crocheting. But most of all, I enjoy spending time with my family and making memories.
